Customers who already had a doorway pull up bar liked the small footprint with this piece of equipment. No power towers or dip stations taking up space. The handles are also removable so you can take them off and store them away when not in use.

If you already have a chin up bar in you doorway this will make sure that your workout set up remains space efficient. This gets excellent online reviews. The only downside we can see is that you need to make sure that you don’t have a weak door-frame.

We are not sure of the weight capacity on this one but user reviews from guys of 225lbs have stated that it was fine for their needs. You can actually buy the Fuel Pureformance dip stand without the rings but for us this is the stand out feature of this particular product. With the rings it is one of the more expensive one’s we review here but we believe the added costs are worth it if you want the added functionality. If you like your fitness equipment to have some aesthetic appeal this is really nice looking though its good looks don’t make it any better or worse.

Assembly is fairly straightforward but one minor complaint is that it doesn’t come with instructions so you have to use a bit of brain power to work it out yourself.

The hand grips are angled outward slightly so it is ergonomically correct for dips, its reported as being very sturdy.

The rings give you a lot more options for upper body exercises you can use the rings for push ups, inverted rows and chest flies. It also comes with a useful poster that shows a wide range of exercises that can be performed.

The Original Lebert Fitness Equalizer

With the Lebert Equalizer you are buying into the ‘brand’ and this adds to the price of this workout device.

The Equalizer comes in a variety of colors from a bright green to a pink one, some of the different shades cost a few dollars more than others for some reason. I have a nice yellow one at home!

The two main selling points of the Leberts Equalizer is that they are light in weight, just 8lbs for each bar but can take a weight of 400lbs. As well as this they provide a very quick versatile workout for your upper body and core. Being lightweight and portable makes them great if you want to transport them or if you lack space in your house or aparment. I like that I can just pick them up and use them to workout in the backyard when the sun is shining.

If you are over 6ft and decide that you’d like to purchase the Lebert Equalizer make sure that you get the XL version.

While the Lebert Equalizer is fairly expensive compared to some of the dip station we have featured in this article it does have some added benefits. If you visit Lebert’s YouTube Channel you will see literally dozens of different exercises you can carry out using this equipment. I would certainly recommend them for someone who wants a fun and varied workout but at a little more cost.



Stamina 1690 Power Tower

There are a number of Power Towers on the market and while most of the other products we have looked at so far are dedicated ‘Dip Stations’ we thought we would add the Stamina 1690 for those of you who might want a combined pull up and dip station tower.

As well as pull ups and dips you can practice various other upper body exercises that will provide an intense, yet safe workout for an affordable price.

The safety it offers comes from the sturdy, solid construction that handles a weight up to 250 lbs. The steel frame offers solid support and ensures the power tower remains still while you carry out your exercises.

Even though most reviews of the Stamina 1690 were very positive some users found the pull-up bar a bit too narrow. If you weight over 200-lbs or intend to do pull ups or dips with additional weight this  probably won’t be stable enough for your needs.

Conclusion

After looking into the pros and cons of all these dip stations, we can agree they all seem to do what they promise they would. That is they offer a stable frame for various upper body exercises.

However, if there’s one thing you should learn it is looking into the specifications and measures of each and every device, so you wouldn’t risk being too tall or too short, too light or too heavy to safely use any of these products.

Another thing you should consider is the size of each frame, depending on the available space you have. Some prefer a portable station for a reduced footprint while others may give that up to a more complex dipping station that offers versatility and allows a variety of upper body exercises.
